There are three things I would primarily like to note here:
The first is that it is irritating when your car, being only two years new and under 45k of travel, starts exhibiting bad behaviour, specifically with the central locking system. What I mean here is that the system now makes a rather loud buzzing noise whenever I unlock it, either via keys, remote, or internal switches. A very loud buzzing motor noise, emanating from the back of the vehicle. It probably reflects amusingly on me that the first reaction I had was to scour the net for either an electrical manual or a Kia troubleshooting forum (first was $60, second wasn’t helpful quickly enough) before actually calling my dealer/mechanic. Was told that the issue is fixable, and isn’t going to break anything if I leave it for a bit… so since I’m about 2000km away from a service, which should take me through to the end of September, and having been assured that no damage will result, I’m going to just deal with it I think. At least it’ll be a warranty job… still got four years or 150000km to go on that one. :)
The second is that teenagers in Shellharbour, at nine pm on a tuesday. can’t be trusted not to steal numberplates. Truth. Although admittedly they didn’t seem to get away with anything, being as after Tegan and I had left I sicced the police on them and they called back to tell me that noone was around the area I mentioned and nothing seemed to be wrong… so that’s good. Must admit though, having a half a dozen or so 16-19 year olds parked just across from you, when you’re in separate cars, and one is wielding a metal bar, is a bit of an adrenalin shock. Next time - park a hell of a lot closer :/
And thirdly, I’m going to draw attention to Brad Caleb Kane’s album, This Day In History, which finally came out after several years of waiting (and apparently after going indie, from Warner to Lovelane, and is sadly only 10 tracks long in the end, but of those tracks, easily half are superb with the other five possessing only two that I found to be forgettable, the other three being good but not quite as fantastic as the five best ones. Seriously… when was the last time anyone released an album with 80% great music, and 20% decent but forgettable music? Especially for a first album. Oh, and if you have no idea who Brad Kane is, think the singing voice of Aladdin back in the day. :)
And now, I’m off to catch up on liver metabolism, and vitamins and minerals. Might even see if I can squeeze in the ethical prescribing goal from today… we’ll see. :)
Alcata’riel.
