ladders and such
Tuesday 11 July 2006
Isn’t the old saying “to go forwards you must sometimes move backwards” such a fun thing to contemplate. Especially as I seem to be living a rather ‘interesting’ applied version of it at the moment, at least in regards to a particular personal situation. Just when I thought I was getting ahead with something, I seemed to fall several rungs down the proverbial ladder and was fairly sure I had in fact fallen off entirely… only to discover that I perhaps maybe kinda hadn’t moved downwards at all, if that even sounds like anything less than nonsensical - though perhaps the ‘rung’ on which I am/was/are standing/gripping is slightly less stable then it was. Or has, perhaps, turned invisible, making the meter of progress difficult
Nothing like climbing ladders, yes?
Going back to Uni next Monday. Have a half day, which is cool and all - being the first week there are, of course, no practicals for bio, which makes Ben happy and all that, as it allows him to ease back into ‘the lifestyle’. Probably no tutes for anything else either, which means this Wednesday will be… an 8.30 - 9.30 class, and then a 1.30 - 2.30 class. At least Chris and Maddi should be around that day, as I’m pretty sure they’re both in poetry wi’me. So I should be able to hang around with them while we wait for theory. Either that, or go ballistically bored waiting.
Add in the fact that I’ve got Thursday morning for Extended Prose (yay, almost have complete reading list!) and then Friday morning for Editing (I think) I shall have a relatively full first week back.
Oh, and I don’t really have the Tuesday off in the first week - rather I’m heading up to Thirroul for the first week, as I’d like a) some of the money they owe me, and b) to get it out of the way during the first week rather than the second week - as it gives me a week of ‘full schedule’ to adjust to, before I start going up there regularly.
That said, that is next week. This week has been more fun. D&D last night, and god, did I almost shoot myself in the foot with Epitheisterra. I’ve got to scramble a bit to get back on track, but… well, apart from a slight slip which means I’ve got to go through with it (and am already justifying now in the writing)… the story is going awesomely. Welcome to the end times, children. Good thing none of you read this, otherwise I’d be somewhat overplaying my hand, perhaps… But this is the first time that the four soul-linked individuals have come together in the game. Even if those links are now severed, the prior antagonism should make for an interesting show.
Today, I went and saw Pirates with Jen and Chris and Lids and Day and Maddi. And ‘twas delightful to see them all again (you can guess who I was happiest to see if you like ~_^) and the movie was indeed quite enjoyable. A tad fluffy on plot, perhaps, but nevertheless fun, and makes me want to see the third movie next May - which is, I suppose, the whole point of it ^^
Other than that? I appear to be going ‘op shopping’ this Thursday to create a doctor outfit in the sense of ‘ye olde parisian gentlemen’ costume for Jess’ 21st this Saturday. I also have an internet bill this week, and my car repayments start - so this week is expensiveness. Ah well, sucks to be me, could really use the money that you owe me Thirroul Public School but I’ll manage. Next time? Don’t give them the invoices the week before holidays. Life, eh?
