Well, I’ve begun work on the new version of The Fall of the Nervii tonight, and so far am feeling fairly pleased with myself. I’ve completed a first draft of part of the prologue, which is much better than the original. The prologue of the original (and of the redux, provisionally) is divided into two sections, and currently, the first half of the redone prologue is almost as long as the entire original prologue - which is good ^-^. The characterisation is better, the dialogue is cleaner, and I think the tone is better. At any rate, if you’d like to give some feedback, I’ve uploaded both versions, and they can be seen here:
