Loose Ends
Sunday 14 September 2003
Well, it’s Sunday night, I’ve finished work, and I’ve more or less come to grips with my life again. More or less. The rails have been mostly degreased, and I’m sliding back into place without too much trembling.
Be that as it may, it’s been a mental struggle these past few days. But that’s only to be expected. I’ve managed to regain control, and get things a bit more into perspective. For some help along the way, I definitely need to thank my friend Jon, who’s been more than willing to just talk… and, hopefully, won’t mind talking a bit more later if and when I need it.
Tomorrow, during Uni, I’ll be leaving about 10.30 to go to my Nan’s funeral… just a small, family service at the Lakeside Crematorium in Kanahooka. Afterwards I’m taking my brother and sister back to school, then going back to Uni for the afternoon… probably. We’ll see tomorrow, I suppose.
At any rate, I think I’ll be OK tomorrow. Nan was ninety three, after all, and she had definitely been going downhill for quite some time. It was a nasty shock for me, though, when it did happen, and these things take time to recover from, no matter how prepared you think you might be.
This time, at least, I’m sure I’ll manage. One way or another, I’ll get through.
