I am feeling somewhat overcome with pride for Gracie this evening. And it is a rather geeky and somewhat self-amused pride. For what am I proud?

She just sat down and watched three straight hours of anime. Specifically, Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar.

Admittedly, she watched it in English, was watching largely because it is cute and has fairies in it, and probably couldn’t tell the difference between Japanese and Western animation if they bit her with their different fang types. That said, I’m sure she’s looking forward to watching the remaining 18 episodes of the show - she told me so when I was reading her a story - and that she will most likely watch other anime in the future. And let’s just say it made me highly amused to walk in as episode six started (have been working/procrastinating on an assigment in another room) to see and hear Grace humming and singing along with the OP theme, a song in Japanese, which she knows probably nothing about whatsoever.

Next up? I’m thinking Evangelion. Or Air. ^_^
