This is just a heads up for everyone who still emails me using andiyar@epitheisterra.com. The basic message is… don’t.

Why?

Quite simple. The domain expired on the 31st of December, 2005. I’d spent about six hours trying to renew the damn thing, and kept getting credit card / paypal errors. Since it was during a ‘credit union holiday yay!’ period, there was noone I could call to fix things. So I decided to call again after they reopened, assuming it hadn’t renewed.

In all honesty, my old registrar was set to auto-renew anyway, I was just trying to change registrars.

And then, I’ve thought today, right, let’s have a look at the domain record (banks are open, it’s on my mind). So I go to reregister the domain, as it’s expired.

error message. your domain has been teh stolened

That’s right. Someone else, I don’t know who, as the WHOIS only shows the registrar, has gone and bought epitheisterra.com the minute it became available, on the 1st of January. When my credit card was broken.

So that’s the first thing I’ve ever had stolen or lost on the internet. Isn’t that fun.
